[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Schuylkill 8-5-1959; amended in its entirety 1-7-2013 by Ord. No. 2013-01. Subsequent amendments noted where applicable.]
A Planning Commission consisting of seven members is hereby created and established for Schuylkill Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, pursuant to the provisions of Article II, Section 201, of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, as established by the Act of July 31, 1968, P.L. 805, No. 247, as amended and reenacted (53 P.S. § 10201 et seq.).
The term of each of the members of the Commission shall be for four years, or until his successor is appointed and qualified, except that the terms of the members first appointed pursuant to this chapter shall be so fixed that no more than two shall be so reappointed or replaced during any calendar year.
The Planning Commission shall have all the powers and duties conferred and imposed upon it as set forth in the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, established by the Act of July 31, 1968, P.L. 805, No. 247, as amended and reenacted (53 P.S. § 10201 et seq.), including the following:
A. 
The Planning Commission shall prepare and adopt a plan of development for the Township, which plan with accompanying maps, charts, drawings, and descriptive matter shall show the Commission's recommendation for the development of the Township.
B. 
The Supervisors of the Township shall refer all plans for proposed subdivision to the Planning Commission for its recommendations.
C. 
The Planning Commission may make and alter all rules and regulations for their own organization and procedure, consistent with the ordinances of this Township and the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
