Within the Department of Buildings and Inspections, there shall be the required subcode officials, consisting of the Building Inspector, the Plumbing Subcode Official, the Electrical Subcode Official, the Fire Subcode Official, Chemical Inspector, Housing Inspector and Elevator Inspector. Subject to the direction and supervision of the Construction Code Official, the Department of Building and Inspections shall:
A. 
Administer the Borough Building Code.[1]

B. 
Enforce the land use provisions of the Borough; and for this purpose the Construction Code Official shall also serve as Zoning Officer.
C. 
Make building and other inspections as required to administer and enforce the provisions of any municipal housing code, heating code, zoning ordinance or site plan ordinance or any resolution of either the Borough of Lodi Planning Board or Borough of Lodi Zoning Board of Adjustment, for which there may be such additional officers and employees as otherwise provided by ordinance or assigned by the Borough Manager.
The several departments are authorized and directed to provide for cooperative inspection and enforcement of the various regulatory inspection requirements of Borough ordinances relating to buildings and structures and their use so far as is practicable. The Department of Inspection shall coordinate all such cooperative inspections to the fullest extent that such coordination is permitted by law.
All records, correspondence, files and proceedings of the Board of Adjustment shall be maintained within the offices of the Department. If the Director or Zoning Officer serves as Secretary of the Board of Adjustment, he shall serve without additional compensation.
