City of Cortland, NY Article V City Judge

§ C5-1 Term; qualifications.

A. The City Judge shall be elected by the electors of the whole City and shall serve such term as established by state law.

B. They shall meet all requirements set by state law and shall be a resident elector of the City.

§ C5-2 Powers and duties.

The City Judge shall have the powers and duties as established by law.

§ C5-3 Acting Judge.

There shall be an Acting City Judge appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Common Council, who shall be a resident elector of the City and shall meet the requirements of City Judge as specified by state law.
