[Adopted 12-4-2002 by L.L. No. 7-2002]
The Town Board of the Town of Saugerties recognizes that there may be times when emergency events cause a particular police agency to require additional law enforcement personnel, equipment or supplies and that intermunicipal cooperation is an efficient and cost-effective method of meeting those needs in the interest of public health and safety.
The Police Chief of the Town of Saugerties is hereby delegated the powers to request and grant police assistance for mutual aid under § 209-m Subd. 3 of the General Municipal Law in such form as may be approved by the Attorney for the Town and shall be filed with the Town Clerk.
The definitions of "local government" and "Chief of Police," as used in this article, shall be those contained in § 209-m of the General Municipal Law.
