A. Every person convicted of a traffic infraction for a violation of
any provision of this chapter which is not a violation of any provision
of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York shall, for
a first conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than
$50 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or by both such
fine and imprisonment; for a second such conviction within 18 months
thereafter, such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than
$100 or by imprisonment for not more than 45 days, or by both such
fine and imprisonment; upon a third or subsequent conviction within
18 months after the first conviction, such person shall be punished
by a fine of not more than $250 or by imprisonment for not more than
90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
B. In addition to the other penalties set forth in this section, the following monetary penalties shall be substituted in the event of a violation of §
158-11:
(1) First offense: fine not to exceed $500;
(2) Second offense: fine not to exceed $750;
(3) Third offense: fine not to exceed $1,000.
C. All violations of Chapter
158, Article
III,
IV, IVA or V, shall be punished with a ticket of $50 per violation. Said penalties may be amended by resolution. The issuance and nonpayment of three tickets shall constitute grounds for the affixing of an immobilization device to the vehicle.

If any article, section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause
or provision of this chapter shall be adjudged by any court of competent
jurisdiction to be invalid, such adjudication shall not affect, impair
or invalidate the remainder thereof, but shall be confined in its
operation to the article, section, subsection, paragraph, sentence,
clause or provision thereof directly involved in the controversy in
which such judgment shall have been rendered.
All prior ordinances, regulations and rules, or parts thereof,
of this Town regulating traffic and parking are hereby repealed, except
that this repeal shall not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment
of any person for any act done or committed in violation of any ordinance,
regulation or rule hereby repealed prior to the taking effect of this
chapter.
