The Board of Trustees has established that two dumpsters shall
be provided in the Commercial Collection District for use by Village
businesses located in the Commercial Collection District. The two
dumpsters shall be located on the north side of Old Northern Boulevard
in an area to be designated by resolution of the Board of Trustees.
The location and number of dumpsters may be changed or modified from
time to time by resolution of the Board of Trustees.
A.Â
The use of the Village-owned dumpsters shall be in accordance with
the following requirements:
(1)Â
Rubbish from building construction, alteration or repair or from
contract operations on the premises will not be collected.
(2)Â
Large and bulky items such as appliances, mattresses, furniture,
and similar objects will only be picked up by appointment with a private
carting company at the expense of the business or individual requesting
removal.
(3)Â
All boxes, disposable containers and packing crates must be flattened
and dismembered into boards not more than three feet long.
(4)Â
All rubbish must be tightly secured in plastic bags prior to placement
in dumpsters.
(5)Â
No more than two bags per business are to be placed in the dumpsters
during a single twenty-four-hour period.
(6)Â
Bags shall not exceed 75 pounds each.
(7)Â
No refuse shall be placed or left outside the dumpsters.
(8)Â
Placement of liquids, grease, chemicals or flammable, toxic, noxious
or hazardous materials is prohibited.
B.Â
All refuse in excess of the above limitations shall be picked up
and properly disposed of at the owner's expense, through arrangements
made with a private carter.
No person whose residence, business, place of employment, tenancy
or occupancy is outside the Village of Roslyn's Commercial Collection
District shall place any refuse in, on or around the dumpsters designated
for use by the businesses located within the Commercial Collection
District.
