The McDonald Volunteer Firemen's Relief Association of McDonald, Pennsylvania, be and it is hereby officially recognized by the Borough Council of the Borough of McDonald as an organization formed for the purpose of maintaining an association for beneficial and protective purposes, to its members and their families in case of death, sickness, temporary or permanent disability or accident, from the funds collected therein.

The McDonald Volunteer Firemen's Relief Association is hereby designated by the Borough Council of the Borough of McDonald as the proper association to receive such funds as are due and payable to the Borough Treasury by the Treasurer of the State of Pennsylvania, from the 2% tax on premiums from foreign fire insurance companies.

There is hereby annually appropriated from the Borough Treasury all such sum or sums of money that may hereafter be paid into the aforesaid Borough Treasury by the Treasurer of the State of Pennsylvania, on account of taxes paid on premiums by foreign fire insurance companies in pursuance to an Act of Assembly in such case made and provided.

A minor volunteer firefighter for the purposes of this Part is a firefighter under the age of 17 who has not graduated from high school.

Minor volunteer firefighters are hereby authorized to engage in fund raising activities for purposes of protection under the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act, 77 P.S. § 1 et seq.
