A Sergeant shall be assigned to such duty as may be directed by the Chief of Police.
He shall promptly obey the orders of the Chief of Police and all other officers of higher authority and shall assist them in every way in the performance of their duties.
Upon observing a violation of rules and regulations on the part of any patrolman, whether under his immediate supervision or not, the Sergeant shall impartially submit a written report to the Chief, citing such charges or specifications.
He shall submit a written report to the Chief concerning alleged or suspected violation of the laws or ordinances.
