Patrolmen shall conduct preliminary investigations at the scene
of crimes or accidents and shall gather evidence, administer first
aid, locate and interview witnesses, make proper arrests and submit
proper reports. They shall be responsible for all phases of police
work, not just their specific assignments.
Patrolmen shall maintain constant patrol of the Borough and
shall be responsible for seeing that all laws of the State of New
Jersey and ordinances of the Borough of Palmyra are duly observed
and enforced and that the public peace is maintained.
The duties of a patrolman shall also be set out by general or
special order of the Chief of Police or his superior officers. A patrolman
shall be governed at all times by the rules and regulations of the
Police Department while on regular and special duty.
