As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
Any coin which has a value in excess of the face amount of
such coin.
The purchase of any rare coins or used items containing gold
or silver for subsequent resale purposes and not for personal use.
Any item containing gold or silver previously sold or transferred
to a consumer for the personal use or enjoyment of such consumer.

No person shall engage in a regulated activity as defined above without
having first obtained a license therefor from the City Clerk, which
license shall bear a number issued by the City Clerk and shall be
prominently displayed within the licensed premises.

Each license shall expire on December 31 of the year in which it
is issued.
A.
Any person required to be licensed hereunder shall be required to
log in a ledger the purchase or receipt and sale of any rare coins
or used items containing gold or silver. All such ledgers shall be
made available for inspection by any law enforcement official of the
City of Englewood upon request and shall contain the following information:

In addition, any person required to be licensed hereunder shall furnish
to the Police Department a notice setting forth the above information
within 30 days following such purchase, receipt or sale.
Any person required to be licensed hereunder shall require the
seller or transferor of any used item containing gold or silver to
furnish to him proper identification, such as driver's license,
employee identification card, etc.
No person shall purchase or acquire any item containing gold
or silver from any person under the age of 18 years without the written
authorization of such person's parent or legal guardian.
Any person required to be licensed hereunder shall post within
the licensed premises, in a conspicuous place, a sign warning all
customers of the criminal penalties associated with the knowing sale
of stolen merchandise.
Any person required to be licensed hereunder who shall purchase or receive any rare coins or any used item containing gold or silver shall not sell, resell, melt, alter, or otherwise dispose of the same until the expiration of 30 days following service of the notice specified in § 232-3 above.
Any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter,
in addition to possible suspension or revocation of any license held
by such person, shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine
of not less than $100 not more than $1,000 or by imprisonment for
a term not exceeding 90 days, or both. A separate offense shall be
deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs
or continues.
