A. 
Purpose. The purpose of this section is to establish policies and procedures for the collection of fees associated with the performance of marriage or civil union ceremonies by the Mayor or Deputy Mayor.
B. 
Collection of fees; waiver of full fee.
(1) 
Persons seeking to be married or joined in civil union by the Mayor of Delanco shall remit a fee, as set forth below, to be paid to the Township of Delanco.
(a) 
Residents of Delanco: $100.
(b) 
Nonresidents of Delanco: $125.
(c) 
Active (and/or retired) military: $75.
(2) 
The Mayor may waive the full fee in his or her discretion.
A. 
Receipt of fees. The fee shall be paid by check, payable to the Township of Delanco. Fees collected shall be deposited into the Township’s current fund. In consideration of the time, preparation, clothing costs, mileage and related expenses incurred, $50 of the fee shall be payable to the Mayor or the Deputy Mayor who performed the service. To the extent that the Salary Ordinance[1] of the municipality provides a set salary for these positions, this article amends the Salary Ordinance to include and allow for the disbursement of these additional fees, as the performance of ceremonies is discretionary and not a mandated responsibility of the positions.

B. 
Disbursement of fees. Fees for service may be disbursed to the Mayor or the Deputy Mayor through the appropriate budget line item and with appropriate authorization through approval of the bill list by the Township Committee.
