Article I Police Chief

§ 57-1 Chief to be appointed; removal.

At the time of the 1982 Annual Meeting and thereafter, the Chief of Police shall be appointed and shall continue to hold such office during good behavior, unless sooner removed for cause by the Selectmen.

§ 57-2 Selection committee to be formed; duties.

A. A committee is to be formed consisting of:

(1) One state police officer.

(2) One man from the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department.

(3) One full-time Raymond police officer.

(4) Two citizens of Raymond (chosen by the Moderator).

(5) One Selectman.

B. Such committee is to select and submit a candidate to the Selectmen for appointment.

§ 57-3 Additional screening of applicants.

All applicants must be screened by the New Hampshire Police Chiefs' Association.
