The Selectmen intend to take such steps as are necessary to
enforce the provisions of RSA 267-A, Motor Vehicle Junkyards, requiring all persons operating, establishing or maintaining
a junkyard to obtain a license to operate and a certificate of approval
from the Board of Selectmen.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
JUNKYARD
Any place of storage or deposit, whether in connection with
a business or not, where two or more unregistered or old motor vehicles,
no longer intended or in condition for legal use on the highways,
are held, whether for the purpose of resale of used parts, for the
purpose of reclaiming for use some or all of the materials, whether
metal, glass, fabric or otherwise, or to dispose of them or for any
other purpose. The term includes any place of storage or deposit for
any purposes of used parts or materials from motor vehicles which,
taken together, include, in bulk, two or more vehicles. The term includes
anyone registered as a motor vehicle junk dealer under RSA 260:53, but does not include an establishment operated by a firm
or individual registered under RSA 260:46 as a new or used motor vehicle
dealer (RSA 267-A:2, I).
Revised Statutes Annotated 267-A:15 imposes a maximum fine of
$10 upon a person for each 24 hours or fraction thereof in which he
is in violation of the requirements of RSA 267-A.
Junk vehicles and material may be deposited in the area so designated
by the Selectmen at the Town dump during regular dump hours.
The Selectmen of the Town of Raymond shall enforce the law described
above after 30 days from the date of this notice.
