Before any dwelling unit located within the Township of Hamilton
is sold, leased or otherwise made subject to a change of occupancy
for residential purposes, the owner shall obtain a certificate of
smoke detector compliance (CSDC), evidencing compliance with N.J.A.C.
5:70-4.19, from the Bureau of Fire Prevention in the Township of Hamilton.
The Fire Official and/or appointed Fire Inspectors are authorized
to issue a certificate of smoke detector compliance (CSDC) with the
Smoke Detector Amendment. In lieu of an on-site inspection, the Township Bureau
of Fire Prevention may issue a compliance certificate after receiving
a notarized certification of smoke detector compliance form, supplied
by the Bureau of Fire Prevention. It will be at the discretion of
the Bureau as to whether these notarized affidavits will be accepted.
The Fire Official and/or appointed Fire Inspector shall be authorized
to enforce this article by and pursuant to the terms and provisions
of the Uniform Fire Safety Act, N.J.S.A. 52:27D-192 et seq.
