There is hereby established a Bethany Park and Recreation Commission.

The Commission shall be composed of up to seven persons appointed by the Board of Selectmen.

The original appointees shall serve from the date of their appointment to June 30, 1960. Thereafter, one of said members shall serve to June 30, 1961, two of said members to June 30, 1962, and two to June 30, 1963. New appointees thereafter shall be appointed for two-year terms, except that persons may be appointed to fill any unexpired terms occurring.

Appointees to the Commission shall serve two-year terms and may thereafter be reappointed.
The Commission shall have the powers given to it by statute and, in addition, shall work with existing organizations interested in recreation and shall use its best efforts to develop and encourage recreational programs to meet the needs of the community.
The Commission shall render an annual report to the Town of its doings.
