Fees and costs — See Ch. 100.
The purpose of this chapter is to establish policies and procedures for the collection of fees associated with the performance of marriage or civil union ceremonies by the Mayor or Deputy Mayor.
Persons seeking to be married or joined in civil union by the Mayor or Deputy Mayor of Town of Newton shall remit the applicable fee as set forth in Chapter 100, Fees and Costs, to be submitted to the Municipal Clerk of the Town of Newton at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled ceremony. The Mayor or Deputy Mayor may at his/her discretion waive the applicable fee for performance of a marriage and/or civil union ceremony.
The fee shall be paid by check, payable to the Town of Newton. Fees collected shall be deposited into the Town of Newton's current fund.
A. 
Fees for services received may be disbursed to the Mayor or Deputy Mayor as set forth in the fee schedule under § 100-9 through the normal payroll process.

B. 
It is at the discretion of the Mayor or Deputy Mayor to designate that their fee payment be donated to any organization of their choice. A properly executed voucher will be prepared charging the appropriate budget line item and submitted to the organization of their choice by the Newton Finance Department.
