On the following bridges and streets, or parts of streets, by the authority granted by the Motor Vehicle Code, 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 4902(a), it shall be unlawful for any person or persons to drive any vehicle or combination having a gross weight in excess of the maximum prescribed below for that bridge or street, or part of a street, as the case may be:

Any person who violates any provision of this section shall be prosecuted under Section 4902(a) and (g)(1) of the Vehicle Code[1] and, upon conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of $150 plus $150 for each 500 pounds, or part thereof, in excess of 3,000 pounds over the maximum allowable weight, and costs.

By reason of hazardous traffic conditions and other safety factors established by the engineering and traffic study and analysis performed by the Township Traffic Engineer dated October 24, 2012, attached hereto and made a part hereof, and by the authority granted by the Motor Vehicle Code, 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 4902(b), and to relieve hazardous traffic conditions, vehicles or a combination thereof exceeding 45 feet in length used primarily for business or industrial purposes are hereby prohibited from operation within the following residential areas of the Township:
A. 
Sawmill Road (TR-391) between Easton Road (S.R. 1001) and Old Easton Road (TR-420).

The proper authorities of the Township are directed to erect the appropriate restriction and informational signs and to do so in conformity with the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Code and the Pennsylvania Code.
3. 
School buses, emergency vehicles and vehicles making local deliveries or pickups shall be exempted from the restrictions on the use of the roads set forth in Subsection 1 above.
4. 
Any person operating a vehicle or combination in violation of the restriction imposed by Subsection 1 above is guilty of a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $500 for each offense.

It shall be unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle other than a passenger car on any of the following streets or parts of streets; provided, nothing in this section shall prohibit any person from driving an emergency vehicle on any of those streets or parts of streets, or from driving on any of those streets or parts of streets a truck or other commercial vehicle making local deliveries to or pickups from premises located along that street or part of a street.
