This Chapter shall be known as the "Zoning Ordinance of the
Borough of Pottstown."

1. This Chapter regulates the use of land and the construction and renovation
of buildings in Pottstown in order to:
A. Preserve and enhance Pottstown's traditional town character, protect
its historic resources, and revitalize its older areas.
B. Promote the general welfare by increasing the amenities of the Borough
and lowering the cost of living in Pottstown through good urban design.
C. Carry out the Community Development Objectives listed in the Preface
and Community Objectives, which are attached to this Chapter and marked
as Exhibit A.
D. Carry out the purpose and scope of Section 105 of the Pennsylvania
Municipalities Planning Code, which authorizes the promotion and preservation
of Commonwealth historic resources.
