The provisions of this article shall apply except
when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other
traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or
official traffic control device.
No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule VII (§
180-26), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
There shall be no parking permitted within the
right-of-way or on the highway of any highways located within the
Town which are maintained by the State of New York.
No person shall park a vehicle between the hours specified in Schedule VIII (§
180-27) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule VIII, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
It shall be unlawful to delay or obstruct any
vehicle or equipment engaged in the operation of snow removal on any
street or highway within the Town. It shall be unlawful for any person
to park any vehicle upon any street or highway within the Town after
a precipitation of snow of one inch or more and before such snow is
cleared. The owner or any person in charge or in control of any vehicles
standing in such street shall move or cause the same to be moved so
as not to be in the path of equipment plowing or clearing the streets
or highway of snow.
The parking of vehicles is hereby prohibited
on all highways or any other public property of the Town between the
hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., beginning on the first day of October
in each year and continuing through the first day of April in the
next succeeding year.

Anyone seeking to utilize Town property for the overnight parking
of vehicle or vehicles:
A. Shall register such vehicles with the Town. Registration with the
Town shall include the following:
(1)
A copy of vehicle registration;
(2)
A short, accurate description of the vehicle, supplementing
the description within the registration;
(3)
The name and address of the particular individual authorized
to and responsible for parking such vehicle overnight;
(4)
An authorized signed statement indemnifying the Town against
any damage or injury to Town property or personnel or to the public
resulting from such parking, together with a certificate of insurance
naming the Town of Wawayanda a certificate holder;
(5)
An authorized signed release with respect to any damage to such
vehicles while parked on Town property. The Town has no special duty
to protect such vehicles from damage or harm; and
(6)
An authorized signed statement indicating that no hazardous,
explosive, highly inflammable or other such dangerous materials are
present on such vehicle.
B. Shall park such vehicles in places designated by the Town.
C. Shall obey all reasonable directives from Town officials.
D. Shall permit the inspection of such vehicles. If inspection of the
vehicle is refused, such vehicle shall be immediately removed from
Town property.
E. Shall not park any unregistered privately owned vehicle on Town property.
