As used in this article, the following words shall have the meanings indicated:
INTERSECTION
The area embraced in the prolongation of the lateral curblines; or, if none, the lateral building lines of two or more highways which join one another at an angle, whether or not such highway crosses the other.
PARKING
The standing or waiting on the street, road or highway in the Borough of Edgewater of any vehicle not actually engaged in picking up or discharging passengers or merchandise; provided, however, that this shall not include the exigencies of traffic.
STREET or AVENUE
Any street, avenue, boulevard, road, parkway, viaduct or other way shown on a plat heretofore approved pursuant to law or otherwise depicted on the Borough Tax Map,[1] including the pavement, shoulders, gutters, curbs, sidewalks, parking areas and other areas within the street line.
VEHICLE
Any wheeled conveyance, whether motor-powered, animal-drawn or self-propelled, and shall include any trailer in tow of any size, kind or description.

B. 
It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle in front of any residential driveway on any street unless the vehicle parked in front of the driveway is registered with a residential parking permit provided for in Chapter 287 for a vehicle registered to that address. Notwithstanding the above, no vehicle may be parked in front of any residential driveway on any street where parking is prohibited.

It shall be unlawful to stop or stand a vehicle in or on the following streets or avenues in the Borough of Edgewater within the points described as follows:

Along the northern side of Orchard Street from a point 123 feet west of the westerly curb of River Road to a point 125 feet west thereof, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during the school year.

A. 
It shall be unlawful to park any commercial vehicle or any school bus, trailer or step vans on any of the streets, avenues or roadways of the Borough of Edgewater from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
B. 
It shall be unlawful to park any recreational vehicle having a length of more than 20 feet on any of the streets, avenues or roadways of the Borough of Edgewater from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
C. 
It shall be unlawful to park a boat or trailer used for the transportation of a boat which is not properly attached to the towing vehicle on any street, avenue or roadway at any time.
D. 
It shall be unlawful to park any truck or commercial vehicle having a gross weight in excess of 8,000 pounds on any private property in any residentially zoned district in the Borough of Edgewater.

A. 
The areas above provided wherein parking is regulated shall be marked with proper signs as prescribed by statute in such case made and provided.
B. 
In any emergency, the Mayor or the Chief of Police may designate by special signs any area within which parking may be prohibited or permitted for the period of the emergency.

Any vehicle on a roadway which is parked or standing in violation of this article shall be deemed a nuisance and a menace to the safe and proper regulation of traffic, and any peace officer may provide for the removal of such vehicle. The owner shall pay the reasonable cost of the removal and the storage which may result from such removal, before regaining possession of the vehicle.

The following lane reservations shall be established:
A. 
The left lane of the western approach of Glenwood Avenue to River Road shall be for left turns only.

No left turn from the northerly and southerly exits of 725 River Road, being also known as "Block 75, Lot 2," and "Block 76, Lot 2," to southbound River Road.

No left turn from the southernmost exit of the Edgewater Town Center, 905 River Road, being also known as "Block 58, Lot 1," to southbound River Road.
F. 
No left turn from the southernmost exit of the Edgewater Commons Mall, 455 River Road, being also known as "Block 84.01, Lot 1.01," to southbound River Road.
G. 
No left turn from the southernmost exit of 575 River Road, presently occupied by the Edgewater Golf Driving Range, being also known as "Block 82, Lot 1," to southbound River Road.
H. 
No left or right turn from the southernmost exit of the Mitsuwa Mall, 595 River Road, being also known as "Block 81, Lot 1," to southbound River Road.
I. 
No left turn from the northernmost exit of the Mitsuwa Mall, 595 River Road, being also known as "Block 81, Lot 1," to southbound River Road.
J. 
Right turn only from eastbound on Hudson Avenue to southbound on River Road.
K. 
Right turn only to northbound River Road from all exits on the entire property of the Mobil Service Station, 955 River Road, being also known as "Block 38, Lot 1.01."

The following midblock crosswalks are hereby established:
A. 
From the easterly to the westerly side of River Road at the location of an existing driveway between 1111 River Road and 1077 River Road.
B. 
On Gorge Road from the intersection of Legend Hills Drive to the easterly side of Gorge Road.

Unless another penalty is expressly provided by New Jersey statute, any person convicted of a violation of a provision of this article shall be liable for a penalty of $50.
