Land uses designated by an "X" on the permitted use charts (see Permitted Use Chart, Residential Zones, and Permitted Use Chart, Commercial and Industrial Uses[1]) are allowed uses within the zone.

B.
Land uses designated by an "S" on the permitted use charts are uses allowed by special use permit. The Zoning Board of Appeals, upon a referral from the Planning Board, must review and approve all uses allowed by special use permit before a zoning permit may be issued. See Article VIII in this chapter for procedure.
C.
A use shall be deemed prohibited within a zoning district unless it is listed as a permitted use or as a use allowed by special use permit within that district.
