The Management Information Systems Department (MIS) is hereby
established to provide technical assistance to and administration
of the City departments' and divisions' computer, telecommunication,
and geographic information systems.

The coordinator of the MIS Department shall be appointed by
the Mayor in accordance with civil service regulations to perform
a leadership role in information technology and in the coordination
of the City's computer equipment and software as defined by the
Civil Service Commission's job description. The MIS Coordinator
shall further provide strategic direction and business administration
of the information systems functions. In addition, the coordinator
shall have direct supervision over the MIS Department, inclusive of
hiring, directing and disciplining such departmental staff as are
approved from time to time in the departmental budget.
This article shall become effective in accordance with the provisions
of the Charter of the City of Milford.
