(a) 
Purpose. Wilcox Park is to be maintained, used and preserved in its natural state as a bird and wildlife sanctuary for the education and scenic enjoyment of the residents of Milford, Connecticut.
(b) 
Prohibited activities. It is unlawful and a violation of this chapter for any person to:
(1) 
Adversely after or affect the landscape or other natural features of Wilcox Park; prohibited activities include cutting, peeling, breaking, stripping or damaging trees, shrubs, plants, or grass within the park except for authorized maintenance.
(2) 
Hunt, trap or camp within the boundaries of Wilcox Park;
(3) 
Alter the natural topography of Wilcox Park or to alter, divert or block the natural or existing drainage patterns of, or increase erosion at, Wilcox Park.
(4) 
Light fires, wash or repair vehicles, park cars or trailers or abandon any unauthorized property in the park.
(c) 
Unauthorized wheeled vehicles. No person shall ride, walk or possess a bicycle, tricycle, motorbike, motorcycle or nonmotorized wheeled vehicle within the park except upon the paved road or in areas specifically designated for such use by the Park, Beach and Recreation Commission.
Any unattended or apparently abandoned wheeled vehicles as described above which are found in unauthorized areas of the park may be confiscated, removed and impounded by the police. Such items will be held at the Police Department or at a wrecker service impoundment area and will be released to the owner upon payment of the tow and storage fees, positive identification and proof of ownership.
Vehicles exempt from the above-referenced restrictions are wheelchairs operated by handicapped persons, baby carriages and strollers containing infants and City maintenance and emergency vehicles.
(d) 
Park boundaries. The boundaries of Wilcox Park are described in a certain map entitled "Wilcox Park, as presented by Clark Wilcox to the Town of Milford" dated August 29, 1909 and filed in the Milford Land Records as Map E-299.
(e) 
Application of Chapter 16-1. The provisions of Section 16-1, et seq., as from time to time amended, shall be applicable to Wilcox Park and are incorporated herein by reference.
(f) 
Penalty. Violation of any provisions of this Section, 16-192 et seq. shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $100 in accordance with Section 1-9 of this Code of Ordinances.
