Each position within the City shall be classified, shall be
identified by a class specification and class title, and all positions
within a classification shall be subject to the same pay range. The
classification plan shall be approved by City Council.
No person shall be employed by the City to fill a position with
any classification or pay range not included in the approved classification
plan until such plan has been amended by the City Council to include
such classification or pay range.
The City Manager may periodically instruct the Human Resource
Director to review the duties and responsibilities of various or all
positions within the City. The City Manager may from time to time
make recommendations to City Council for amendments to the classification
plan.
