Article VI: Stop and Yield Intersections

§ 291-12 Through highways established.

The following streets are hereby designated as through highways, and stop signs shall be erected at the entrances thereto, except at such places where said streets intersect with each other, for which provision is hereinafter made in § 291-13, or where other provision is made in this article:

§ 291-13 Intersections of through highways.

The intersections of the streets set forth in § 291-12 above with each other are hereby regulated as follows:

The intersection of South Montgomery Street and West Main Street is hereby designated as a stop intersection, and a stop sign shall be erected on South Montgomery Street at its entrance to said intersection from the south.

The intersections of Wait Street, Walker Street and Center Street with North-South Montgomery Street are hereby designated as stop intersections, and stop signs shall be erected at their entrances to said intersections from the west.

The intersections of Scofield Street with Orange Avenue and the westerly fork of Orchard Street at Municipal Square are hereby designated as stop intersections, and stop signs shall be erected on Scofield Street at its entrances to:

Orange Avenue from the west.

(2)

The westerly fork of Orchard Street at Municipal Square.

The intersection of Highland Avenue with East Main Street is hereby designated as a stop intersection, and a stop sign shall be erected on Highland Avenue at its entrance to said intersection from the south.

The intersection of Oak Street with North-South Montgomery Street is hereby designated as a stop intersection, and stop signs shall be erected on Oak Street at its entrances to:

North-South Montgomery Street from the east.

The intersection of East Avenue with Sherman Avenue is hereby designated as a stop intersection, and a stop sign shall be erected on East Avenue at its entrance to said intersection from the south.

The intersections of Walden Estates Road with East Main Street and Old East Main Street (Boulevard) are hereby designated as stop intersections, and stop signs shall be erected on Walden Estates Road at its entrance to said intersection with East Main Street and Old East Main Street (Boulevard) from the south.

The intersection of Linden Avenue and Wait Street is hereby designated as a stop intersection, and a stop sign shall be erected on Linden Avenue at its entrance to said intersection from the south.

§ 291-15 Full stops in parks.

The following locations in Village parks are hereby designated as points for full stop at which stop signs shall be erected:

Walden Municipal Park.

Entrance of Sherman Avenue Extension from park onto East Avenue.

(2)

Exit from the parking lot onto the access road.

(3)

Entrance at a gate into beach area before pedestrian walkway.
