A. 
The following speed limits are hereby established:
(1) 
On Pinch Road within the Borough, the speed limit shall be 40 miles per hour.
(2) 
On Pennsylvania Route 117 within the Borough, the speed limit shall be 35 miles per hour.
(3) 
On all other highways or portion thereof within the Borough, the speed limit shall be 25 miles per hour.
B. 
Any person who shall operate a vehicle or tractor at a speed in excess of that established therefor, upon any highway or portion thereof within the Borough shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of $10 and costs of prosecution and/or undergo imprisonment for not more then five days.

Any person who shall operate a motor vehicle or tractor upon any highway or portion thereof hereby established as a one-way highway within the Borough, other than in the direction hereby established for traffic thereon, shall upon conviction thereof be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $10 and costs of prosecution and/or undergo imprisonment for not more than five days.
A. 
The following intersections are hereby established as stop intersections, and official stop signs shall be erected (or are hereby confirmed if heretofore erected) in such a position as to face traffic approaching the second-named highway upon the first-named highway, in the direction or directions hereby indicated. All vehicles and tractors approaching any such intersection upon the first named highway, in the direction or directions hereby indicated in each case, shall come to a full stop, within a reasonable distance, before entering any such intersection:

Any operator of a vehicle or tractor who shall fail to come to a full stop, within a reasonable distance, before entering any stop intersection, as hereinabove required, shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of $5 and costs of prosecution and/or undergo imprisonment for not more than three days.
A. 
The following intersections are hereby established as yield-right-of-way intersections and official yield signs shall be erected (or are hereby ratified if heretofore erected) in such a position as to face traffic approaching the second-named highway from the first-named highway, in the direction or directions hereby indicated. All vehicles and tractors approaching any such intersection upon the first-named highway, in the direction or directions hereby indicated, shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle in the intersection or approaching on the second-named highway so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard during the time that the operator of such vehicle or tractor is moving across or within such intersection:

All vehicles and tractors approaching any such intersection upon the first-named highway, in the direction or directions hereby indicated shall keep to the right.

Any operator of a vehicle or tractor who shall fail to keep right, as hereinabove required, shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of $5 and costs of prosecution and/or undergo imprisonment for not more than three days.
A. 
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any truck or tractor, trailer or tractor-trailer combination having a gross weight in excess of 12,000 pounds upon any of the highways within the Borough, except trucks or tractors, trailers or tractor-trailer combinations used by or contracted by the Borough of Mount Gretna, or the Pennsylvania Chautauqua, or any of their entireties for maintenance or construction purposes. For the purposes of this chapter, a truck is considered to be any vehicle that would be licensed commercially by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

B. 
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any vehicle or tractor, or any passenger vehicle drawing any trailer or towing any other vehicle, or any major recreational vehicle which shall include, but is not limited to, boats and boat trailers, travel trailers, pick-up campers or coaches (designed to be mounted on automotive vehicles), motorized dwellings, tent trailers, and the like upon any highway or portion thereof within the Borough.
C. 
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any snowmobile or minibike upon any highway or portion thereof within the Borough.
D. 
Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall pay a fine of not less than $50 nor more than $600, plus costs, provided that nothing herein shall prohibit the operation of any vehicle or tractor set forth in Subsection A and B of this section upon any highway or portion thereof where such operation therein shall be necessary in order to pick up or deliver any goods, wares, merchandise or material from or to any premises located upon any such highway or portion thereof. Each day that a violation of this article continues shall constitute a separate offense. The violator shall be required to pay all administrative costs, counsel fees, and expenses associated with the Borough's enforcement of this article. This provision shall not limit the ability of the Borough to file any appropriate action in law or in equity in the Court of Common Pleas of Lebanon County. The Borough does hereby authorize the Borough Solicitor to proceed with any action before a District Magistrate or in the Court of Common Pleas of Lebanon County.

E. 
Nor shall anything herein prevent the operation of a recreational vehicle as set forth and defined in this section upon any highway or portion thereof where such operation shall be necessary to park said recreational vehicle upon any property owned or leased by the owner of said recreational vehicle, the parking of which shall be in a completely enclosed building.

F. 
Nothing herein shall prohibit the operation of any vehicle or tractor as set forth in Subsections A and B of this section upon any highway or portion thereof where such operation thereon shall be necessary in order to pick up or deliver any goods, wares, merchandise, or materials from or to any premises located upon any such highway or portion thereof.

G. 
Nothing herein shall preclude or prevent the parking of such vehicles set forth in this section for loading or unloading purposes the maximum of six hours in any twenty-four-hour period. Temporary construction trailers used during renovations or new construction with a Mount Gretna Borough issued construction permit are permitted. Trade vehicles engaged in home repairs and maintenance are also permitted.

It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any vehicle or tractor upon any highway in the Borough that is under construction, resurfacing or repair, in disregard of any official sign, barricade or notice that the same is closed to vehicular traffic. Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $25 and costs of prosecution and/or undergo imprisonment for not more than 10 days.
A. 
The Mayor is hereby authorized to designate as play highways, whenever he shall deem such action advisable, and for whatever period of time directed by him, any portion of any highway in the Borough, whereon sledding, coasting and playing shall be permitted. Such highway shall be set apart for the purpose under the direction of the Mayor.
B. 
No person shall operate any motor vehicle or tractor upon any play highway at any time when such highway shall be so designated, except in case of emergency, with special permission of the Mayor or of the police officer in charge, who shall first clear such play highway of all persons using such highway for the purpose for which it was set aside. Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $10 and costs of prosecution and/or undergo imprisonment for not more than five days.
For the purpose of the penalties provided in this article, each day that a violation is continued shall constitute a separate offense.
