When property tax owed to the Town of East Haddam following
a lawful assessment by the Town upon any motor vehicle remains unpaid
on the first day of the month following the month in which the tax
first became due, the Tax Collector shall submit to the Connecticut
Department of Motor Vehicles a notice, in form and content as prescribed
by such Department, declaring said tax unpaid. Thereafter, the sum
of $5 shall be added as a fee to the unpaid tax and collected by the
Tax Collector upon payment of said tax.
This article shall apply to any such delinquent tax reported
to the Department of Motor Vehicles on or after January 1, 2004.
