The provisions of this article shall apply except when it is
necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or
in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official
traffic control device.
The parking or standing of any vehicle or boat is hereby prohibited
on all highways and private roads open to public motor vehicle traffic
within the corporate limits of the Village of Huntington Bay.

Should a Village resident desire to have a gathering, party
or family event that will require the parking of motor vehicles on
the highways or private roads within the Village of Huntington Bay,
he or she shall apply for a permit for overflow parking from the Village
Clerk. Should such permit be issued, the applicant must abide by any
restrictions issued by the Police Chief.

Each offense against the provisions of this chapter or article
shall constitute a violation pursuant to the Penal Law of the State
of New York and shall be punishable as such. Any person, firm, corporation,
or other legal entity violating any provision of this chapter or article
shall be liable for and pay a fine of $25 for a conviction on each
offense in addition to an administrative fee as follows:
A. If the fine is paid within 30 days from the date of conviction, there
shall be no administrative fee.
B. If the fine is paid between 31 and 60 days after the date of conviction,
the violator shall pay an administrative fee in the amount $25, or
a total of $50.
C. If the fine is paid more than 60 days after the date of conviction,
the violator shall pay an administrative fee in the amount $50, or
a total of $75.
