A. All full-time
employees and the eligible members of their families shall be provided
with coverage for hospitalization, major medical insurance, and such
other medical benefits as provided by the Township.
B. Any elected
official who, as of February 1, 2010, was receiving health, vision,
or dental benefits shall be permitted to retain those benefits until
such time as the elected official secures benefits from a private
source or until June 1, 2011, whichever event occurs first. Any future
consideration for reinstatement of benefits by part-time elected officials
shall necessitate a public referendum question.
A. For employees hired prior to July 1, 1997, the Township
of Montville shall pay the costs of medical insurance premiums for
an employee of the Township of Montville who has retired after 25
years or more of service credit in a state-administered retirement
system and also having served at least the last 18 years with the
Township of Montville, reached the age of 55 years old, and retired
from Montville by disability or service retirement. The premiums paid
by the Township of Montville shall be limited to premiums for medical
insurance coverage only and shall include spousal coverage while the
employee is alive. Medical coverage shall terminate for the employee
when the employee reaches the age of eligibility for Medicare and
for the spouse of the employee when the employee reaches the age of
eligibility for Medicare or when the employee dies.
B. For employees hired after July 1, 1997, the Township
of Montville shall pay the costs of medical insurance premiums for
an employee of the Township of Montville who has retired after 25
years or more of service credit with the Township of Montville, has
reached the age of 55, and has retired from Montville by disability
or service retirement. The premiums paid by the Township of Montville
shall be limited to premiums for medical insurance coverage only and
shall include spousal coverage while the employee is alive. Medical
coverage shall terminate for the employee when the employee reaches
the age of eligibility for Medicare and for the spouse of the employee
when the employee reaches the age of eligibility for Medicare or when
the employee dies.
