No obstruction to vision (except street signs, utility poles or traffic signs approved by the Borough, or existing buildings, posts columns, or trees) shall be erected, placed, planted or allowed to grow in a manner that would impede vision between a height of 30 inches and eight feet above the grades of the intersecting streets. The clear sight triangle shall be determined by drawing a straight line between points on each side of the intersecting streets along with cartway or road edge from the point of intersection (see Figure 1). The clear sight triangle shall be measured along each street edge line a distance of 50 feet from the intersection of said lines or extension thereof. All plants, trees, shrubs and/ or vegetation shall be kept trimmed to ensure unimpeded vision or motor vehicle traffic.

At intersections where an alley intersects a public street or where two alleys intersect, a clear sight triangle (as determined in § 29-500) of 15 feet as measured from their point of intersection along the cartway or road edge shall be maintained within which vegetation and other visual shall be limited to a height of not more than 30 inches above the street grade.

All roads under the Borough's jurisdiction shall follow the above distances and requirements. Those roads governed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) shall follow PennDOT's regulations for sight measurements. Should there by a conflict, PennDOT regulations shall prevail.
