A. 
Thirty miles per hour is hereby established as the maximum speed at which vehicles may proceed on or along highways within the corporate limits of this Village, except on the following highways:
(1) 
Route 59 (Main Street), from its intersection with Route 9W (Highland Avenue) to the westerly Village line (Waldron Avenue).
(2) 
North and South Highland Avenue, Route 9W, between the northerly and southerly boundaries of the Village.
B. 
Thirty-five miles per hour is hereby established as the maximum speed at which vehicles may proceed within the corporate limits of this Village on or along the following highways:
(1) 
Route 59 (Main Street), from its intersection with Route 9W (Highland Avenue) to the westerly Village line (Waldron Avenue).
(2) 
North and South Highland Avenue, Route 9W, between the northerly and southerly Village line.
C. 
Fifteen mailes per hour school speed limit is hereby established as the maximum speed at which vehicles may proceed between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. within the corporate limits of this Village on or along the following highways:

(1) 
Fifth Avenue, starting at a point 300 feet west of the westerly building line of the Nyack High School and continuing in an easterly direction to a point 300 feet from the east building line of said school.
(2) 
Haven Court, starting at a point 300 feet west of the west property line abutting the Nyack High School building and continuing in an easterly direction to the intersection of North Franklin Street.
(3) 
Fifth Avenue between Marion Street and Broadway.
(4) 
Depew Avenue starting at a point 300 feet east of the building housing the Head Start School and continuing in a westerly direction to the intersection of South Franklin Street.
D. 
Twenty-five miles per hour is hereby established as the maximum speed at which vehicles may proceed on or along the following designated highways within the Village of Nyack:

The following ordinances or parts of ordinances are hereby specifically repealed.
A. 
Section 38 of the ordinance adopted July 10, 1935.
B. 
Section 38A of the ordinance adopted February 10, 1941.
C. 
Section 38B of the ordinance adopted January 29, 1959.
A. 
This article shall take effect from and after the first day of August 1968, except those parts, if any, which are subject to approval under § 1684 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law and § 46 of the Highway Law of the State of New York.
B. 
Any part or parts of this article which are subject to approval under § 1684 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law and § 46 of the Highway Law of the State of New York shall take effect from and after the day on which approval in writing is received from the New York State Department of Transportation.
Every person convicted of a traffic infraction or a violation of any provision of the foregoing ordinances, which is not a violation of any provision of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York, and for which no penalty has been provided in any of the foregoing ordinances, shall, for a first conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than $50. For a second such conviction within 18 months thereafter, such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than $100. Upon a third or subsequent conviction within 18 months after the first conviction, such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than $250.
