The President and Commissioners recognize the necessity of reducing
maximum allowable speed limits throughout the Town as allowed by § 21-803
of the Transportation Article of the Annotated Code of the State of
Maryland.
If the Town determines that any maximum speed limit specified
in § 21-801.1 of the Transportation Article of the Annotated
Code of the State of Maryland is greater or less than reasonable or
safe under existing conditions in the designated areas, it may, after
having conducted the necessary engineering and traffic investigation,
by resolution set the appropriate speed limit in the designated areas.
The Town, in addition to posting the appropriate speed limit
for its streets, shall keep on file with Town Manager a schedule of
posted speed limits throughout the Town and shall add or delete speed
limits when changed by resolution as allowed by this article.
