There is hereby created a Municipal Court for Bass River Township
and Washington Township, both townships being situate in the County
of Burlington and State of New Jersey.
Said Municipal Court shall be presided over by a single Judge
appointed by the Governor of the State of New Jersey, who shall receive
a total salary for so serving of $650, with said salary to be paid
through payment by the Township of Bass River of 10/13ths of said
salary and by the Township of Washington of 3/13ths of said salary.
All fines, costs and fees collected by said Court shall be apportioned
to the Township of Bass River and the Township of Washington on the
same ratio as each municipality contributes to the total expense of
maintaining said Court pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2A:8-33.
There shall be one Municipal Court Clerk for said Municipal
Court of the Townships of Bass River and Washington, which Clerk shall
be appointed by resolution of the Township Committees of each of said
Townships and shall be paid by said Townships a total salary of $650
payable 10/13ths by the Township of Bass River and 3/13ths by the
Township of Washington. Said clerk shall be appointed for a term of
three years from the date of appointment, and said Municipal Court
Clerk shall assume for the aforementioned pay all duties within said
Townships of both Court Clerk and Violations Clerk.

Any person applying for representation by the Municipal Public
Defender shall pay an application fee of $50 for said representation.
The Municipal Judge, upon considering the application, may waive any
portion of this application fee if in his discretion he finds the
same to be an unreasonable burden on the person seeking representation.
