This article shall apply to gases in a state exceeding 40 pounds per square inch absolute at 70° F. or 104 pounds per square inch absolute at 130° F., and including but not limited to bulk oxygen, hydrogen, flammable anaesthetics and nonflammable medical gases.

Compressed gases shall be stored, handled and used according to the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and/or the applicable standards of the NFPA.
A permit shall be obtained from the Fire Prevention Division for storage, handling and use of compressed gases.
