A. 
Obstructions to fire escapes, designated access openings in exterior walls for Fire Department use, stairs, passageways, doors, or windows and other fenestrations liable to interfere with the operations of the Fire Department or egress of occupants in case of fire shall not be permitted.
B. 
Highly flammable materials, including but not limited to towels, blankets, straw, dry vines or leaves, artificial flowers or shrubbery, and foam plastic materials shall not be used for the purpose of covering, obscuring, protecting, or decorating any door, window, or other fenestration, unless flame retardant.
(1) 
For purposes of § 205-64B, "flame retardant" shall mean those materials meeting the National Fire Prevention Association's 701 standard.
