Merit and appointed employees are eligible for administrative leave in accordance with the terms of this Article
XVI.
Administrative leave is paid leave which may be granted to eligible
employees for regularly scheduled hours during which they are not
required to work, under the following conditions:
A. To relieve an employee of duty for an indeterminate time pending
the resolution of any issue involving such employee if, in the judgment
of the Mayor, the effectiveness of government would be best served
by granting such leave;
B. When the Town government closes or opens late due to an unforeseen
event which prevents employees from reaching their workplace or which
may affect their safety and welfare during the course of the normal
weekday; or
C. For other reasons, at the discretion of the Mayor.
