Fees for construction and inspection permits are fixed in the
separate amount hereinafter set forth, which fee shall be rounded
to the nearest dollar and shall be paid before the permit is issued
and the total fee to be paid in each case shall be the sum of the
fees for applicable permits as follows:
A. Building subcode fees.
(1) New construction.
(a)
Business, high hazard, institutional, mercantile, educational,
residential and utility: $0.034 x cubic foot of volume.
(b)
Assembly, factory and storage: $0.019 x cubic foot of volume.
(c)
Commercial farm buildings (maximum fee not to exceed $1,443):
$0.001 x cubic foot of volume.
(2) Renovation, alterations, repairs and minor work.
(a)
Estimated cost:
[1] Up to $50,000: $30 per $1,000.
[2] From $50,001 up to $100,000: $23 per $1,000.
[3] Above $100,000: $19 per $1,000.
(3) Demolition and removal.
(a)
One- and two-family residences and structures on farms: $82
per structure.
(b)
Utility garage, shed, in-ground pool and pole barn: $82 per
structure.
(c)
Tanks (above/in-ground): $82 per tank.
(d)
All other use groups: $151 per structure.
(4) Signs.
(a)
Flat fee (pylon, ground or wall): $58..
(5) Swimming pools.
(a)
Aboveground.
[1] Greater than 550 square feet: $126.
(b) In-ground.
[1] Greater than 550 square feet: $189.
(c) Bonding
and grounding certificate: $36.
(6) Open structure towers: cost of construction.
(7) Roofing and siding.
(a)
One- and two-family residences: $58.
(b) All
others: cost of construction.
(8) Retaining walls.
(a)
One- and two-family residences.
[1] Surface area greater than 550 square feet: $189.
[2] Surface area less than 550 square feet: $95.
(b) All
others: cost of construction.
(9) Tents (in excess of 900 square feet or more than 30 feet in any direction).
B. Plan review fees: twenty percent of the amount to be charged for
the construction permit and shall be paid before plans are reviewed.
The amount paid for this fee shall be credited toward the amount of
the fee to be charged for the construction permit.
C. Certificate of occupancy fees.
(1) One- and two-family residences.
(4) Continued occupancy granted pursuant to a change of use group.
D. Electrical subcode fees: those amounts set forth for the particular
items and work in the schedule of department fees in accordance with
N.J.A.C. 5:23-4.20.
E. Plumbing subcode fees: those amounts set forth for the particular
items and work in the schedule of department fees in accordance with
N.J.A.C. 5:23-4.20.
F. Fire subcode fees: those amounts set forth for the particular items
and work in the schedule of department fees in accordance with N.J.A.C.
5:23-4.20.
G. Elevator subcode fees: those amounts set forth for the particular
items and work in the schedule of department fees in accordance with
N.J.A.C. 5:23-12.6.
H. State of New Jersey permit fees: those amounts set forth in N.J.A.C.
5:23-4.19.
I. Other fees: those amounts set forth for the particular items and
work in accordance with N.J.A.C. 5:23-4.18 (Standards for Municipal
Fees) and N.J.A.C. 5:23-4.20 (Departmental Fees).
The Construction Official shall, with the advice of the subcode
officials, prepare and submit to the Quinton Township Committee, biannually,
a report recommending a fee schedule based on the operating expenses
of the agency and any other expenses of the municipality fairly attributable
to the enforcement of the State Uniform Construction Code Act.
