There shall be a Municipal Court which shall have and exercise
the limited civil and criminal jurisdiction prescribed by law. Said
Court shall have a Judge who shall be known as the "Judge of the Municipal
Court." He shall be appointed by the Council on reorganization for
a term of three years and possess the qualifications as set forth
by law. The Court shall have a Municipal Court Administrator who shall
be appointed by the Township Manager and who shall perform the functions
assigned by the Judge. The Court shall also have an Assistant Municipal
Court Administrator who shall be appointed by the Township Manager
and who shall assist the Municipal Court Administrator in the performance
of his or her duties. In the event of the absence or disability of
the Municipal Court Administrator, the Assistant Municipal Court Administrator
shall act and perform as the Municipal Court Administrator and perform
the functions assigned by the Judge or Municipal Court Administrator.
The Municipal Court may be provided under a joint or shared municipal
court arrangement, in which case the appointment of the Judge and
Court Administrators shall be subject to the terms of the agreement
governing the municipal court operation.
