Buildings and structures shall be constructed and maintained
to prevent and avoid fire hazards and in a manner conducive to firesafety
as required by Chapter C of the Uniform Code.

Every one- or two-family dwelling or any dwelling accommodation
located in a building owned as a condominium or cooperative or otherwise
in the Village constructed, altered in such a manner as to require
the installation of a smoke detector, offered for sale or rented after
January 1, 2003, shall have installed therein an operable carbon monoxide
detector.
