Any dog seized and impounded for violating any of the provisions of this Part 2 or of the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law shall be held until disposed of pursuant to § 118 of the Agriculture and Markets Law.

Before any dog is redeemed from village custody, proper and sufficient proof of ownership and licensing of said dog shall be required and the payment of the seizure fee and care.
If any dog impounded by the village is not redeemed as provided by law, the Dog Control Officer, Police Department, Village Board or any person or agency authorized by law to seize and impound dogs may order the destruction of such dog or may deliver said dog to a responsible and proper person upon paying the seizure fee and the cost of care and impounding of such dog and the producing of the license for such dog.

For the purpose of discharging the duties imposed by this Part 2, the Dog Control Officer and each member of the Police Department or any other village agency or employee designated for the purpose of enforcing this Part 2 is hereby authorized and directed to enter upon any premises in the village upon which any dog is kept or harbored and to demand the exhibition by the person owning or having charge of or control of said dog of the license tag for such dog. The Dog Control Officer and each member of the Police Department or any other village agent or employee designated for the purpose of enforcing this Part 2 is hereby authorized and directed to enter upon any such premises for the purpose of enforcing the same to ascertain if any provisions of this Part 2 or the Agriculture and Markets Law of the State of New York are being violated. No person shall hinder, resist or oppose any duly authorized official in the performance of his duties under this Part 2.

Seized dogs shall be impounded and held by the Village of Warsaw at such place or places as the Village Board shall designate, and such dog shall remain so impounded until redeemed or destroyed.
Suitable records shall be kept of all seized dogs.
