This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Traffic
and Vehicle Law of the Incorporated Village of Mineola, New York"
or the "Traffic Regulations of the Incorporated Village of Mineola,
New York."
The Superintendent of Public Works shall install and maintain
traffic control devices when and as required under the provisions
of this chapter and traffic orders enacted by the Board of Trustees
to make effective the provisions of this chapter and traffic orders
and shall install and maintain such additional traffic control devices
as the Board of Trustees may deem necessary to regulate, warn or guide
traffic under the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York,
subject to provisions of §§ 1682 and 1684 of that law.
Pursuant to the provisions of § 1603, Subdivision
(a), of the Vehicle and Traffic Law, power is hereby delegated to
the Mayor to exercise, by official order, rule or regulation, the
following powers granted to the Board of Trustees in Article 39 of
the Vehicle and Traffic Law, subject to the limitations imposed by
§§ 1643 and 1684 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law and
not inconsistent with any regulations heretofore or hereafter enacted:
A. Provide for the installation, operation, maintenance, policing and
supervision of parking meters.
B. Provide for regulations for the use, maintenance, operation and establishment
of fees for municipal parking lots.
