The corporation, club or person applying for an appointment under
this article shall be liable for the official misconduct of the officer
appointed on such application and for the torts of any servant or
agent in the employ of such club, corporation or person. When any
such application is made by or in behalf of more than one person,
it will not be considered unless all applicants sign it, nor when
made by a corporation or club, unless it is signed by a duly authorized
agent and accompanied by a certified copy of a vote authorizing such
application to be made by such agent. All applicants shall be required
to state the nature of their interest in the property or locality
for which the officer is to be appointed, that is to say, whether
as owners, lessees, agents or managers.
Applications shall be turned in the first of February of each year,
accompanied by a resume of police experience, to the Police Chief
for recommendation, then to the Mayor for appointment, then to the
Council for acceptance.
