It shall be unlawful for any person, other than a duly authorized member of the Fire Company, agent or employee of the Township or agent or employee of the Willingboro Municipal Utilities Authority, while engaged in the performance of duties and for the uses and purposes of such Company, Township or Authority, to open or attempt to open any of the fire hydrants or valves connected with the waterworks system in the Township, without such person first obtaining written permission from the proper authority or officials.
No person shall in any manner obstruct or prevent free access to any fire hydrant or shall in any manner tamper with, injure, deface, damage, remove, destroy any fire hydrant or damage by causing or permitting a vehicle to come into contact with any fire hydrant or place or store, temporarily or otherwise, any object, material, snow, debris or structure of any kind within a distance of 10 feet of any fire hydrant.

Any person violating the provisions of this article shall, upon conviction, be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, Article II, General Penalty.
