[Adopted 6-20-2011 ATM by Art. 33, approved 9-20-2011]
The Chief of Police, or another designated police officer within the Department, may temporarily prohibit parking on any street, highway or part thereof, or any municipal parking lot, in an impending or existing emergency, including adverse weather conditions or to facilitate snow removal or clearing of streets. Any motor vehicle that is parked in violation of this article, if the owner cannot be located, may be towed at the discretion of the Police Department at the expense of the owner. The Chief of Police, or their designee, shall make reasonable efforts to give public notice of any such parking ban by way of newspaper, radio or television broadcasts; provided, however, that lack of such public notice shall not be a defense to a violation of this article. In accordance with the provisions of MGL c. 90, § 20A 1/2, the Board of Selectmen shall set the fines for violations of this article.
