Adoption of local laws — See Ch. 14.
This chapter is enacted in recognition of the need to reduce the cost of local government, wherever possible, consistent with the duty to inform the residents of the Town of Schroeppel of the legislative enactment of ordinances.
Every ordinance or amendment to an ordinance hereafter enacted by the Town Board shall be recorded in its minutes and published as required by § 133 of the Town Law, except that such publication may be by a summary statement of the text only, together with a statement that the original is on file and may be inspected in the office of the Town Clerk.
This chapter shall not affect any other requirements of § 133 of the Town Law nor shall it in any way modify the provisions of §§ 264 and 265 of the Town Law regarding the adoption and publication of zoning ordinances and amendments thereto.
This chapter shall be subject to a permissive referendum on petition pursuant to § 24, Subdivision 2(a), of the Municipal Home Rule Law.
