As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
An occasional sale by individuals of accumulated items of
personal property, most commonly within a household, and no longer
having utility thereto. "Garage sale" or "rummage sale" includes all
general sales, open to the public, conducted from or on a residential
premises in any residential district.
The owner of any property zoned residential within the Village
may conduct a garage or rummage sale subject to the conditions or
limitations in this chapter.
A.Â
Any garage or rummage sale shall be limited to a period of not more
than 72 consecutive hours within any seven consecutive days.
B.Â
All garage or rummage sales shall occur no earlier than 7:00 a.m.
and no later than 7:00 p.m. All remaining personal property shall
be returned to and stored within the permanent structure(s) on the
premises.
C.Â
The owner of any property zoned residential within the Village may
not conduct more than three rummage or garage sales during any calendar
year on premises owned by him or her. Garage/rummage sales are prohibited
in all other zoning districts in the Village.
D.Â
No sale may be conducted in such a manner so as to obstruct any sidewalk,
street, traffic sign, or safe view of an intersection.
E.Â
No more than one rummage sale or garage sale may be conducted within
a thirty-day time frame.

Signs shall comply with Article XVIII "Signs" of this Code.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter, upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to § 1-2 of this Code.
