Permits are required for the following: new home construction;
manufactured, modular and mobile homes; additions; siding; renovations
and alterations to house; garage (attached and detached); storage
sheds over 200 square feet; reroofing; drywall/plastering; tile, floor/wall;
cabinets/trim/countertops; in-ground and aboveground pools over depth
of 24 inches; porches/steps; decks (all); concrete patio or slab;
patio roof structure; sun rooms; signs; demolition; stove/fireplaces;
spa/hot tub, plumbing (except changing fixtures and repairs to faucets
and traps under sinks and blockage of drains); electrical services
and wiring; heating and air conditioning (new and replacement); fences
over six feet (all fencing requires zoning approval); paving driveways,
parking areas; repaving driveways, parking areas; retaining walls;
earthmoving/grading; and driveway cuts.

A. The following fees will be imposed according to the following schedule:
(2) Subdivision: $200 per lot.
(3) Alterations,
renovations or modifications of existing building or structure: $100
plus $20 for each $1,000 of estimated cost of alteration, renovation
certified by the contract.
(4) Zoning appeals (residential): $150, plus 1/2 stenographers' fees,
plus all advertising costs.

Hearing Board (residential): $450, plus 1/2 stenographers' fees, plus
all advertising costs.

Hearing Board (commercial): $550, plus 1/2 stenographers' fees, plus
all advertising costs.

(8) Property
zoning change: $400.
(9) Structure
and facility other than buildings (tents, carnivals, circuses, stands):
$25 per day; plus $100 for business license.
(10) Fireworks stands: $25 each day; plus $100 for business permit.
(11) Job johnnies required on all new construction, temporary structures,
tents, etc.: no charge.

Business occupancy certificate: $350 (for all commercial establishments).

Residential occupancy certificate: $100.
(14)
Inspection of tenant-occupied spaces: $55 per unit.
(16) Dumpster: $15 (residential); $25 (commercial).
(17) Commercial license: $200.
(18) Sign permits:
(b) Over $500: $60, plus $40 per $1,000.
(19) Security/alarm permits: $100.
(20) Engineer's fee (must be paid before permit is issued): per billing.
(21) Pyro display: $50 each show.
(22) Copies of Land Development Ordinance: $30.
(23) Copies of Zoning Ordinance: $40.
B. Additionally, all fees incurred by the City of Nanticoke for reviews
shall be reimbursed by the applicant prior to final approval by the
City of Nanticoke. Failure to pass inspections on the first visit
will result in a list of items to be corrected. Failure to pass inspection
after the list is issued will result in initial fee to be paid a second
time.
This article is in effect at the present time unless repealed
by definite mention, and all other ordinances shall remain in effect
unless in conflict herewith, such conflicting provisions being hereby
repealed.

The penalty set forth for the violation of any act, omission,
commission or noncompliance with this article is as follows: Any person
or persons, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of
this article shall, upon summary conviction thereof, in a summary
proceeding before the Magisterial District Judge having jurisdiction
over the City of Nanticoke, be sentenced to pay a fine not more than
$1,000 per day and costs and in default of payment of such fine and
costs, be imprisoned in the county jail for a period not exceeding
90 days. Each and every day upon which any person or persons, firm
or corporation violates or continues to violate the provision of this
article shall constitute a separate offense. In addition to any other
penalty provided herein, any person who commences regulated construction
work without first obtaining the required permit shall pay a penalty
equal to 100% of the applicable permit fee.
