Any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter or
of the personnel rules and regulations adopted by authority of this
chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine
of not less than $25 nor exceeding $600 plus costs and, in default
of payment thereof, shall be subject to imprisonment for a term not
to exceed 30 days. Each day that a violation of this chapter continues
shall constitute a separate offense.
Disciplinary proceedings may be initiated against any individual
who is employed by the municipality and who is convicted under this
article.
