[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee of the Township
of Buena Vista 4-26-1999 by Ord. No. 7-1999 (Ch. 3 of the 1993
Code); amended in its entirety at time of adoption of Code (see Ch.
1, General Provisions, Art. I). Amendments noted where applicable.]
A charge of $20 shall be made when a check or other written
instrument issued to the Township of Buena Vista for any payments
is returned by the bank upon which said check or other written instrument
is drawn is uncollectible.
The Chief Financial Officer shall have the authority to waive
said fee where he determines that extenuating circumstances exist
(i.e., a check being returned for reasons beyond the control of the
signer of the check or other written instrument).
Any service charge authorized by this chapter shall be collected
in the same manner prescribed by law for the collection of the account
for which the check or other written instrument was tendered.
Future payments may be required to be tendered in cash or by
certified or cashier's check.
