(a) Trees and shrubbery shall not be placed between the curb and sidewalk.
(b) Trees and shrubs shall be planted at least one foot behind the right-of-way
line, outside the required sight triangles, 30 feet from street intersections,
15 feet from driveways and alleys, 10 feet from utility poles, and
10 feet from sewer lines.
(c) Shade trees that are planted to satisfy Subdivision and Land Development
Ordinance requirements shall be planted at least one foot, but not
more than five feet, behind the right-of-way line, not more than 50
feet apart, and shall be at least 2 1/2 inches in caliper and
eight feet in height.

(a) Approved shade tree species are:
(1)
American beech (Fagus grandifolia). [Note: These trees are not
recommended for planting near sidewalks.]
(2)
Sugar maple (Acer saccharum).
(3)
Yellow birch (Betula alleghaniensis).
(4)
Black birch (Betula lenta).
(5)
Green ash (Fraxinus pennsylvanicus).
(6)
White oak (Quercus alba).
(7)
Chestnut oak (Quercus prinus).
(8)
Swamp white oak (Quercus bicolor).
(10)
Shingle oak (Quercus imbricaria).
(11)
Willow oak (Quercus phellos).
(12)
Shumard oak (Quercus shumardii).
(13)
Basswood (Tilia americana). [Note: These trees are not recommended
for planting near sidewalks.]
(14)
Shagbark hickory (Carya ovata).
(15)
Bitternut hickory (Carya cordiformis).
(16)
Honey locust (Gleditsia triacanthos).
(17)
Cucumber magnolia (Magnolia acuminata).
(18)
Black gum (Nyssa sylvatica).
(19)
Hackberry (Celtis occidentalis).
(20)
Bald cypress (Taxodium distichum). [Note: These trees are not
recommended for planting near sidewalks.]
(21)
Eastern white pine (Pinus strobus).
(22)
Atlantic white cedar (Chamaecyparis thyoides).
(b) Additional species may be approved from time to time by the Township
Board of Supervisors.
(c) No more than 1/3 of the trees planted in a subdivision or development
to satisfy Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance requirements
shall be of the same species.
(d) Shade trees shall be planted prior to the property being transferred
from the builder or developer to the owner.
